Once upon a time, there was a little town in the mainlands of Denim-villa, called Jean-city, where all categories of jeans like dark denim, light denim, wide-legged, high-waist, vintage, low-waist, etc lived together in peace and harmony.

While enjoying the weather one day two denim jeans started discussing evolution and how there will be more kinds of jeans in the future. This discussion turned into a debate and they got into a grave fight. They fought so badly that one of them decided to storm off the town and not live there anymore. Everyone tried to stop the angry jeans from leaving but nobody could. The head of the town, Vintage jeans asked micro-shorts to go and try its luck too.
The micro-shorts jumped on the leg of the jeans and held it till the fence of the town. The jeans still did not stop and were adamant about leaving and starting a new life away from Jean-city. While trying to throw micro-shorts off its leg, the jeans got caught in the barbed wire and something mind-boggling happened. The jeans tore off at the knee! Now, the torn jeans sat outside its birth town, looking at all its relatives on the other side of the fence, it somehow felt relived and rejuvenated.

To mark the beginning of its new life, jeans decided to embrace its new look and renamed itself Ripped jeans. Nobody accepted ripped jeans and called them immoral and indecent. The aged vintage jeans would call it incomplete and advised it to go get itself fixed. On the other hand, the kids looked at it and aspired to be different and free like it.

One day, when the ripped jeans were roaming around all alone, picking more threads off its cut, it saw other jeans coming from the direction of their town. “Here comes another one who’ll either try to fix me or take me back” it sighed. As the jeans came closer it saw that it wasn’t just any jeans, this one had a cut like them on its thigh!

Ever since then, more and more rebellious, free-minded, and creative jeans have used the same old barbed wire to create different rips on the jeans. Eventually, the Jean-city members accepted the ripped jeans community as their own and lived together happily ever after.

We shame people for being different, flawed, or wearing what they are comfortable in.  Nobody deserves to be judged for wearing ripped jeans or a saree. Neither does the grace of a saree ka pallu, nor the funk of ripped jeans distinguishes between two human beings, then who are we?
